Just a quick question? If you were stranded on an island (like in the show, Lost) and you could have two books (not including the bible or “island survival guides”), which ones would you choose? and why?
Peace

Seafood cookbook and saltwater journal that I can track what fish is edible and how to cook them. Pete(Quote)
Letters from a Skeptic, because it answers questions of why bad things happen to good people. Love Comes Softly because it is a good, clean, light hearted book. Sherry(Quote)
I would like to have a good mathematical anthology so that I could keep studying math and would be able to teach math to my kids (if they exist at this point). I would also like to have the Circle Trilogy by Ted Dekker. Yes, I know I’m kind of cheating, but the trilogy is available in ONE book now. This is the best work of fiction I have ever read, and I think I could read it over and over again.
By the way, lest anyone think I don’t read theology, I’m assuming my husband is on the island and has two brilliant theology books with him. Although, I wouldn’t want to be present while he was having to choose only two!

I would allow shannon or dee to choose my two books.

Tarzan of the Apes and Dune.
They are the two that I have read countless times and could read over and over.
Why this question. Are you looking to expand your puny library?

Boyd’s new book when it finally comes out because it would probably take my lifetime on an island to read it all.
Some kind of book that could teach me to make toilet paper… :silly: Jason D.(Quote)
The first book would be about ironic situations and the next be about dealing with pirates and their hidden booty. Darrell(Quote)
If Dee gets to pick a trilogy that is sold as 1 book, then I will go with the Chronicles of Narnia series (also sold in one book). It would take me years to peel off all of CS Lewis’ layers and find all the suggested spiritual implications. My second might be Robinson Crusoe, I get entertainment plus practical Island survival tips. Just a side note, the “real” Robinson Crusoe was stranded on Tobago.
My own quick question, Shannon…who reads Moltmann for fun? Tony Lombard(Quote)
I’m not much of a reader so I’m going to have to agree with Chasity. I would let Dee and Shannon pick my two books; however I would prefer a good mystery and hopefully they would be pretty long books. Fran Acosta(Quote)
